You’ve been fooled! But wait…
Unfortunately, hiking signposts with time estimates for trail runners are merely a product of my imagination. But have the time estimates on signposts of hiking trails ever been completely wrong for you? Well, good news! You have the chance of winning a CHF 50 voucher for the revario online shop by beating a hiking time estimate.
To participate in the challenge,
- find a signed hiking trail with an estimated duration of at least 1 hour, for which you think it would take you much less time to complete than indicated;
- record a Strava activity of you following this trail1. Add a photo of the signpost with the estimated time and include the link to this challenge in the description (fmatti.ch/signposts);
- fill in a form with your name, contact details, and the link to the recorded Strava activity.
The female and male participants who, respectively, beat the time estimate by the greatest factor win a CHF 50 voucher for the revario online shop. The challenge ends on the 1st of July. Multiple submissions are possible.
I’m looking forward to seeing which strategy will win: Short or long? Uphill or downhill? Easy or technical?
Rules: Follow the trail all the way to its destination, whose name you will usually find indicated in the white location field on the signpost once you reach it. Using any other mean of transport than your feet, leaving the marked trail, or any other way of manipulation will result in a disqualification of your submission. I may ask you to supply additional evidence for your submission. We all count on your honesty.
